Schreck in der Morgenstunde: Als wir um 7 Uhr aufstehen regnet es in Belgern. Als wir endlich um Viertel nach 9 Uhr losfahren ist der Himmel zwar bedeckt, aber es regnet nicht mehr.

In Weßnig fahren wir an Deutschlands erster Radfahrerkirche vorbei. Sie wird renoviert, wie so viele Kirchen in Ostdeutschland. Sie ist eingerüstet bis zur Unkenntlichkeit, deshalb kein Foto.

Schoß Hartenfels in Torgau

In Torgau passieren wir daß imposante Schloss Hartenfels, das beim Jahrhundert-Hochwasser 2002 auch nasse Füsse bekam.

Angebote entlang des Elberadwegs

Der Konkurrenzkampf ist anscheinend hart entlang des Elberadwegs. Gastronomie und Unterkunft werden bis zu 32 km vorab verkündigt.

In Gorsdorf haben wir einen kurzen Abstecher zu einem Wasserschloß gemacht. Schick, aber bestimmt teuer im Unterhalt.

Schließlich haben wir um 17 Uhr 20 nach 91 Kilometern unser Etappenziel Wittenberg erreicht. Bemerkenswert ist noch die zunehmende Belästigung durch Schnaken, begünstigt durch die zahlreichen Altelbarme und eine fehlende Bekämpfung, wie sie bei uns am Rhein üblich ist. Claudia hat es auf immerhin acht Stiche gebracht.

Luther Installation

Auf dem Marktplatz von Wittenberg fällt natürlich die Installation mit 800 Plastik-Luthern auf. Sie geht auf eine Wette zurück und hat einen karikativen Hintergrund.

Das Motto ist “Hier stehe ich, ich kann nicht anders”.

Ein Muss in Wittenberg ist natürlich der Gang zur Schlosskirche, wo Luther seine 95 Thesen anschlug.

Allerdings handelt es sich bei dem bewussten Haupttor um einen mittlerweile auch schon wieder antiken Nachbau, denn das Original ist im siebenjährigen Krieg verbrannt.

So sind wir denn heute schwer gebeutelt durch Gegenwind, aber immerhin trocken um 17:20 in Wittenberg angekommen.

Unterkunft haben wir in der Pension “Zur Elbe”, einem traditionsreichen Gasthof mit immerhin hundertjähriger Geschichte und seit dieser Zeit in Familienhand, gefunden.

Abgeschlossen haben wir den Abend mit einem köstlichen Abendessen im Restaurant “Zur Elbe”.
